The Compendium of Traditional Dietary Files for First Nations and Inuit in Arctic Canada™

The DRG files for the Arctic Canada Dietary Compendium uses information drawn largely from studies conducted by The Centre for Indigenous Peoples’ Nutrition and Environment and The Northern Contaminants Program, Canadian Arctic Contaminants Assessment Reports. Additional information for Inuit regions was collected from the Nunavik Inuit Health Survey and two Baseline Surveys for the Food Mail Pilot Project.

The ten regions for which there are dietary profile files include four Inuit regions Nunatsiavut (Labrador), Nunavik (northern Quebec), Nunavut (Includes Kitikmeot, Kivalliq, and Baffin), and Inuvialuit Settlement Region; the Yukon Region (Includes Athabaskan and Inland Tlingit); and five Northwest Territory regions representing the 5 Dene Nations, Gwich’in, Saht̍u, Dehcho, Dogrib (Tlicho), and Akaitcho (South-Slave/South-Slavey).
